I was Tagged!

Okay, so I'm the worst blogger on the planet, but alas, I was tagged this morning and am to post a picture... here's the deal... you go to your picture folder on your computer and go to the 4th folder within that folder and the 4th picture in that folder and then post and explain it. Well... I'll be honest here people... that folder is of pictures of my parents' new condo being built ... kinda boring? I'll post it anyways. But then for fun, I went to the 3rd folder and 4th picture in there and that's a little more fun. :) So you'll get both. Lucky you! (Whoever you are... I think I am talking to myself... but that's okay b/c I feel less guilty about never updating this "journal/diary/blog")... heh heh

So yeah, here is the picture that is ACTUALLY in the 4th folder, 4th picture slot... *yawn*... boring! I mean, it's exciting because it's freaking awesome that my parents bought a condo out here in Littleton and can come stay for extended periods of time (but not have to share our space)... and it's a GORGEOUS place!... as you can see... beautiful dark hardwoods in the kitchen and dining and then "suede" cabs... wonderful. Loves it. Anyways, this was about mid-November. It's completed now, and the fam even stayed there over Christmas!!!

And this is my "cheating" picture... it's from the 3rd folder, 4th picture. Hey, at least I stuck with the 4th picture theme here people. This is in my kitchen on Christmas Day when we were finishing up the giant Buffalo Roast (yum-o!) and this is 3 generations... my mum on the left, and then me and my favorite lady (and best flower-girl ever), my Nana. We're a silly bunch. Good times!

So there you have it. I was tagged and I responded. I would blog more often, but I don't really have much to blog about... I mean, I talk a lot and can email like crazy, but I'm not sure most of it is "blog-worthy". Perhaps down the road I'll be a better blogger... until then... adios! xo

Entering 2009

Well, nothing new to report, just thought I'd check in here on the 1st day of 2009. We had a wonderful first Christmas in our New Home back in Colorado and it was beautiful and relaxing, we had both families come to us, which was wonderful. I will post some pictures as soon as PapaDward and Jillybean send them along... they were the one snappin' the pics this week. Mum and Dad are officialliy homeowners in Colorado now and spent some time this week decorating their new pad. Hopefully the condo will mean we'll get more frequent visits from them! yay! I'll post some pictures of that, too. Beautiful new condo in west Littleton.

The Edwards Clan arrived on Christmas Eve after we enjoyed a low-key Christmas with the Williams family (specifically Papa Willi - ahem, Randy - and Meg & Mike)... we were able to finally defeat Ryan at Blockus. Quite an achievement! :) Christmas Day Terry & Marc joined us for a giant Buffalo Roast! Nana didn't know... shhhhhhh... heh heh, nah, we finally broke the news to her that it was Buffalo on Monday night. heh. Poor Duped NanaBanana. ;)

Our week included lots of eating, drinking and merriment, along with plenty of fun board games (Guesstures and Taboo are new favorites amongst the Edwards contingency)... and of course, skiing! Even Ryan joined in the "fun". Ha! You'll get there soon, babe, promise! It CAN be fun! Just the Edwards-5 went up on Saturday and were met by temperatures that topped the thermometer at about -2 degs F, but as the weatherman said... "Feels like -28 deg F"... it was DAMN cold up there! Dad's face nearly froze off... and he had an ICEBURG growing on his 'stache. hahahaha! Sunday was a day of rest, and then Monday we hit the slopes again with avengence, since Sean's boots and the cold weather hindered the true hard-core-skiing on Saturday... however, Alli & Ryan stuck to 'Green Acres' (aka the bunny slope) where we mastered (kind of) pizza & french fry. Mostly we mastered french fry... pizza needs some work. Yikes. Tuesday the boys hit the slopes hard again (all 3 days at Copper), and we ended the week with some Buffalo Chili, Taboo, and Champagne at the new Edwards Chalet. :) A wonderful week!

Then, we kicked off 2009 with a BANG by having our first really big party in the new house! Lots of hot-tubbing and other shenannigans went on at 5159 Morning Glory Place... good times had by all!

We look forward to lots of wonderful memories in this new year, and I hope to be better about sharing them with everyone here (and if no one reads this but me myself and I, at least I have a good place to host my memories)...

Happy New Year!

5159 Morning Glory Place

There it is! Our beautiful new home!

Now we just can't wait to move in. Heck, I think Jeff has spent more time there than we have... he's been our water-boy... taking care of all our beautiful plants in our absence. Thanks Jeff! You're the best!

Anyways, the news that's fit to print, is that Alli will fly out tomorrow, Friday 6/6, and will spend just over a week at the house getting started on some personalization projects such as painting the bedrooms, updating fixtures, etc... and then also be there for the professional update to the countertops! YAY! That happens on Thursday the 12th. Can't wait!

After leaving on Sunday the 15th, it's less than 2 weeks till the official move. And we can't WAIT! It's bittersweet to be leaving California, it's been a great experience and I think we'll appreciate CO even more coming back, but we are definitely ready to hunker into the new digs. Woo hooo!

The official move date is currently set such that the movers come on Wednesday the 25th to pack the apartment and then on Thursday to load the truck and head out with our stuff... then we'll bust outta there on Friday the 27th with the yeowling kitties and will make a bee-line for Colorado with minimal stops. We're not even sure they'll let us spend the night somewhere in Utah to break it up, or if we'll have a repeat nightmare experience of the drive out and have to just do the trip straight through... either way, we intend to pull into the driveway in our own car, for keeps, on Saturday June 28th... barring any change of plans or issues with the movers and what-not.

We'll keep ya posted!!!

California Closing Day... Yay!

Well hello again! Today is the big day... we're closing on the house. Well, we, the buyers, are closing today... the actual closing date is Tuesday the 20th, but since we're doing all the signing from here in Cali, we have to go sign everything at a notary and then ship it back to the title company in Colorado so that the sellers can sign everything on Tuesday. Phew!

We're excited!!! As of next Tuesday we will be the proud owners of 5159 Morning Glory Place!!!

Next Friday, the 23rd, we'll fly back to CO and will take possession of that new fabulous home. Saturday we'll start our move by renting a u-haul and moving what we have stowed away in Colorado Springs, up into the new digs... including our guest room furniture so we can spend our very first night in the nuevo casa. Excellent.

This past weekend we enjoyed a wonderful weekend with the Colorado Rockies in San Diego. Fab. We caught 2 games, Friday and Saturday nights. We also were staying right downtown in the Gaslamp Quarter at the Omni San Diego Hotel (highly recommend!) which is literally attached to Petco Park! We could walk across a sky-bridge to get to the game and once we got our hands stamped we could come and go as we pleased! It was perfect for catching batting practice from 5-6pm, going back to the room for some wine and TV and then back to the park in time for the 7:00 game! Excellent. All the people in San Diego are great too. So nice. The people who sat in front of us at the game on Friday night actually invited us out to a pool party they were having on Saturday! HA! We also realized far too late, that they had called/texted us (yes, we scored some digits) after the game Friday night to hit a bar downtown with them! Drat! Oh well, it was still pretty cool! San Diego is a great place, I recommend everyone visit! Yay!

Yes, we WILL return...

Everyone keeps asking... "when are you moving back?!"... to which we usually respond with something witty like "we're adding on a month for each that no one comes to visit us" or "everytime someone asks us when we're moving back, that's an additional month we're staying"... but the real answer is SOON!!! Ryan's contract ends June 30th and when they asked us to stay on for a few more months we said "Thanks but no thanks!!". So, it's for real, people, the Willies will return to CO at the end of June. PHEW!

It's been a great and wonderful adventure to be in Cali for the past 2 years, we've made some great friends, seen lots of the beautiful left coast and enjoyed some yummy wines, but truth be told, we are indeed ready to be heading back home to Colo. We currently are under contract on a beautiful home we can't wait to call our own in Highlands Ranch. We're due to close on May 23rd and take possession on the 30th. Most Excellent. (By the way, though Lockheed will be moving all our stuff out here in Cali back, we will be expecting everyone who is not pregnant - sheesh - to help us with our shctuff still down in storage in the Springs... yup, and no, if your wife is pregnant, no, that doesn't mean you are... nope, doesn't count.)

We're setting up this blogspace to share with friends and family who are not local, all the wonders of our move back and goings ons in our life... what better way to kick it off than with chat of our big move back to the Homeland.

GO ROCKIES!
